Is full professor at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano (UCSC), School of Political and social sciences. She teaches Epistemology, Methodology of social research and Sociology. She taught in Ph.D. courses at many Italian Universities and in foreign universities. She is the coordinator of the Ph.D. in Sociology and Methodology of Social Research at UCSC and Board member of the Graduate School in Social Science at the same University.
She is also member of the scientific committees of the journal “Studi di Sociologia” and of several sociological series of monographs. She’s member of national and international scientific associations, holding leadership positions at the national level. Her research examines social exclusion, unaccompanied minors, globalization, mobility, civil society, youth, migration. She has conducted research nationally and internationally, participating, as director, in projects funded by the European Union. Bichi has authored numerous books, book chapters and articles on Italian and international journals.
