He holds a PhD from the Catholic University of Milan.In 2001 he got a Diploma in Arabic Studies and in 2002 a Licentiate in Arabic and Islamic Studies at P.I.S.A.I.(Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies), Rome.
In 2000 he got a Master’s Degree in Comparative Studies (Arabic-English Language and Literature) at Istituto Universitario Orientale, Naples.
From 2003 to 2005 he lived in Cairo, where he taught Italian at Salesian Institute “Don Bosco” and studied different manuscripts by Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti about the second coming of Jesus in Islam.
He has lived in Milan since 2005.
In 2006 he took part in an International Visitor Leadership Program with the support of The U.S. Consulate General in Milan focused on Intercultural Relation and Muslim Integration (Washington and Detroit).
Since 2005 he has worked at Ismu Foundation.
Main fields of work and research interests: education (language of origin valorisation and plurilingualism of second-generation immigrants, Italian as L2), religion (Islam: transmission of religious values from first to second generation, places of worship), interreligious dialogue (Islamic-Christian relations), intercultural relations (ties with country and culture of origin and links between communities and host countries).
He has been for ISMU Foundation, since 2007, responsible for the management and implementation of Sportello Arab-informa (consultancy), whose aims are to disseminate correct knowledge of the Arab and Islamic world. It is intended for institutions, educators, teachers, operators, both Italian and foreign, interested citizens.
He has frequent relations with associations of Arab immigrants, especially Egyptians, belonging to first and second generation, to develop an intercultural approach to migration, integration and social cohesion, but also to encourage institutions, such as schools, to develop comprehensive intercultural strategies to manage urban diversity.
